April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) started her journey in music at the age of 7 in which she began guitar and piano classes. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. At 14 old, she devoted long hours developing song ideas and perfecting her music. After a while, she began traveling with her father as well as write her songs either in NY as well as LA. April featured other topics in her hit song, Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt issues like peer pressure, issues or even teenage suicide thinking. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with a growing number of followers. She collaborates with the renowned brand Ilia in partnership, as well as being an expert in the field of lifestyle. She was not born having a left-handed hand, which is why she's who she is. But that's far from the full story. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on the issue. What's the message? It's this: We all have numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think we're. Lockhart talks through video from Nashville. "I do not intend to let it define my life. I'm not looking to be merely recognized as an expert in disabilities. But it does not affect my everyday life. I do the normal things and I've adapted to my disability. It's a big part of my life, and it's imperative that we talk about it. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay striving to be self-accepting. She admits that she has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and exposed her arms. She can wear whatever she likes, and happily shares pictures of her wearing these clothes. Self-love, she says is a process. It's not clear if you'll ever reach the end. This is true for everyone, no matter what their levels of anxiety. It's my opinion that having those around you who really know you and see your heart is really important since they'll be those that remind you of what are you concerned about?
